How We Work

Ethical Approach
Ethical investment means choosing investments that reflect your values (in other words that takes environmental, social and ethical aspects into account to suit your aims). If you are interested you will be asked to complete a separate questionnaire to identify your priorities.
With the large number ethical investment funds now available, Bromige has the expertise to help you choose the fund that meets your own criteria. This means that you have the opportunity to align the power of your money with the direction of your values.
It is possible to invest directly in shares in the stock market using a specialist Ethical Stockbroking Service or indirectly in funds that invest in shares such as pensions, and other savings and investment schemes.
There are broadly three approaches to ethical investment but the best encompass all three.
Funds with a Negative screen avoid investing in companies involved in areas such as arms, nuclear power, repressive regimes, the tobacco industry, anti-trade union activity, animal experimentation and third world exploitation.
Funds with a Positive screen actively seek to invest in companies with products and services that are of long-term benefit to the communities and environments in which they operate. These may include good safety records, openness about activities, pollution control, energy conservation, production of recycling equipment, policies on equal opportunities.
Funds which engage in Dialogue and Engagement encourage more responsible business standards when there is a strong business case for change, especially in the areas of appropriate remuneration, social responsibility and climate change.
